The intense disparity between that vision and our current reality compels me to direct my energy and resources toward uplifting the dignity of those who are oppressed.     1) The Black Trans Femmes in the Arts collective, a group in the US which advocates for space, visibility, life and health for Black trans femmes in the art world and beyond. They have been supporting BTF protestors with legal aid, medical treatment in the event of injury while protesting, as well as other needs of their community. I am grateful for the opportunity to support them.

    2) The Yawanawa tribe, who live in the Amazon, in Acre, western Brazil. Along with many Indigenous populations, they are at tremendous risk at all times. This risk is amplified in the age of Covid-19. They have taken measures for their own safety, and are accepting donations which are being used to fortify and strengthen themselves, now and for the future. As they are stewards of the forest, their strength, health and vitality has a direct impact on the health of the planet and ALL her inhabitants. In June of 2016 I went into the studio with Ian Turner to begin work on what would become "Hey Day," my third solo album. Over the following 12 months, what began as a small acoustic expression quickly became a rich, focused blast of rock, soul and folk music. Vocals lead the way, as I am joined by the exceptional voices of Jonathan Hoard, Alisha Neverson, Clair Oaks and Ian Turner. Supported by vibey drums, swirling synths, guitars, organ and piano, this is the album I've been wanting to make my whole life. The songs are opportunities for emotional, psychological and spiritual exploration, borne of my adventures in the inner and outer worlds. Ultimately, "Hey Day" is a call to action for all who hear it to wake up and work for love, creativity and inspiration. I'm proud to offer this music into the world, and to count you -- the reader -- as a close friend and fan. The booklet you hold in your hands is a small token of my appreciation for staying connected to my music. May transcendence, beauty and joy be your guide!
